Optomap® Retinal Exam
This ultra-widefield image captures over 80% of your retina in one quick scan, usually without dilation. It helps detect early signs of eye disease and creates a permanent record so we can track changes to your eye health over time.

Visual Acuity Test
We measure how well you see at a distance and close-up using the classic eye chart, an essential baseline.

Autorefractor Measurement
Our automated system gives us a quick read of your prescription before manual refinement.

Refraction Assessment
This determines your exact prescription for glasses or contact lenses, helping us fine-tune your vision to your lifestyle needs.

Cover Test
A simple but important test to check for eye muscle imbalances or subtle misalignments that may cause strain, double vision, or headaches.

Intraocular Pressure Check (Tonometry)
A gentle, contact-free test measures the pressure inside your eyes to screen for glaucoma — a leading cause of vision loss if undetected.

Slit Lamp Exam
This microscope exam lets us examine the health of the front of your eyes - including your cornea, iris, lens, and eyelids, for signs of dryness, infection, or early cataracts.

Retinoscopy
A technique we use to objectively estimate your prescription by observing how light reflects from your retina, especially useful for children, new patients and complex cases.

Pupil Dilation (if needed)
When medically indicated, we use dilation drops to widen your pupils so we can examine the retina and optic nerve in more detail. You’ll be light-sensitive afterward, but it gives us a fuller picture of your eye health.

Visual Field Testing
This evaluates your peripheral (side) vision, which can reveal early signs of glaucoma, neurological changes, or retinal problems.

Optical Coherence Tomography OCT
A non-invasive scan that captures cross-sectional images of the retina and optic nerve, OCT detects early signs of glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and other conditions—often before symptoms appear.

Ocular Surface Disease & Dry Eye Screening
Our dry eye screening evaluates tear quality and meibomian gland function using advanced imaging, helping detect ocular surface disease early and accurately.

Visual Function Assessment
We assess how your eyes work together and perform in real-life visual tasks.
Visual Acuity (Distance & Near)
We measure how clearly you can see letters or images up close and far away.
Refraction (Subjective & Retinoscopy)
This is how we determine your prescription — both using light and your responses to different lenses.
Cover Test (Distance & Near)
Checks how well your eyes align and work together at various distances.
Extraocular Movements (EOMs)
We evaluate how your eyes move to detect any muscle or nerve issues.
Pupil Assessments (PERRLA)
We check your pupils’ responses to light and distance for signs of neurological or eye issues.
Confrontation Fields
A quick check of your peripheral (side) vision to screen for any blind spots.
Colour Vision & Stereopsis (New/Pediatric)
We test how well you see colours and depth — especially important for children and new patients.
Slit Lamp Exam
A detailed look at the front and back structures of your eye — including the eyelids, cornea, retina and optic nerve — to identify dryness, inflammation or early signs of disease.
Tonometry & Glaucoma Screening
Measures the intraocular pressure (IOP) inside your eyes to help detect early signs of glaucoma.
Dilated Fundus Exam (as needed >50)
Drops are used to widen your pupils so we can take a closer look at the retina and optic nerve — especially important after age 50.
Optos Retinal Imaging
A wide-field photo of the back of your eye, helping us catch concerns without dilation in many cases.
OCT
A 3D scan of your retina and optic nerve that helps detect early signs of ocular conditions like glaucoma or macular degeneration.
